Dr. med. Dimitrios Papakostas gratuated from the Medical School of the University of Athens (2003). He was trained in Dermatology and Venerology in the Department of Dermatology and Allergy, Charité University, Berlin, Germany and continued his medical and academic career in the Department of Dermatology and Allergy, University of Bonn, Germany.

Dr. med. Dimitrios Papakostas is a board-certified Dermatologist and Venereologist from the Berlin Chamber of Physicians (2010)

His medical Thesis on biodegradable poly-lactic acid (PLA) nanoparticles as carriers for transcutaneous vaccination and topical dermatotherapy was conducted in the Clinical Research Center of Skin and Hair Science, Charité University, Berlin, Germany.

After his return to Athens, Greece (2013) he continued his medical and academic work as a research and clinical fellow of the Melanoma and Nevi Unit and the outpatient clinic for autoimmune diseases of the skin in the Department of Dermatology, A. Syggros Univeristy Hospital.

Dr. med. Dimitrios Papakostas has been active in dermatological research, authoring many article publications and textbook chapters, including being involved in multiple prospective and experimental research trials. He has been participating in the training of Dermatology residents and medical students.

Dr. med. Dimitrios Papakostas is an active member of prestigious European scientific societies, among others the European, German and Greek dermatological society (EADV, DDG, HADV) and the European and German society of dermatological oncology (EADO, ADO), with numerous congress announcements on national and international level.

Dr. med. Dimitrios Papakostas provides in his private practice since 2013 a wide spectrum of special dermatological treatments such as skin surgery, laser dermatology and medical aesthetics meeting the highest international standards. His clinical interests are focused on Psoriasis, Atopic Dermatitis, Acne and Rosacea, on Urticaria, dermatological Oncology (Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer, Melanoma), autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases of the skin, diseases of the hair and the appendices.
